Frequently Asked Questions

How can I book an appointment?

Do you accept walk-ins?

I am currently seeing patients by appointment only. Walk-ins will not be accepted.

What should I expect at my first visit?

Before your first appointment, you will be prompted to complete your new patient paperwork online. During the appointment, I will review your medical history, conduct an exam, and administer your initial treatment, typically consisting of soft tissue therapy, chiropractic adjustments, and lifestyle or exercise recommendations to expedite your healing.

What is a chiropractic adjustment?

A chiropractic adjustment is a precise, controlled movement applied to a joint—most commonly in the spine—with the goal of improving how that joint moves and functions. When joints become restricted or don’t move as well as they should due to injury, repetitive stress, poor posture, or everyday wear and tear, the surrounding muscles, ligaments, and nervous system can become irritated.

A chiropractor uses their hands or a specialized instrument to deliver an adjustment by applyying a specific force in a specific direction, tailored to the patient’s body and condition. This helps restore normal joint motion, reduce stiffness, decrease muscle tension, and improve communication between the brain and the body through the nervous system. Adjustments are individualized, evidence-informed, and designed to support the body’s natural ability to move, adapt, and heal.

Why do adjustments make a popping sound?

When a chiropractic adjustment makes a cracking or popping sound, it’s completely normal and harmless. That sound comes from a process called cavitation, which occurs when a joint is gently moved in a specific way. Joints contain fluid and dissolved gases (like oxygen and carbon dioxide).

During an adjustment, pressure within the joint changes quickly, causing those gases to form and collapse into tiny bubbles—this release is what creates the popping sound. It’s similar to the noise you might hear when cracking your knuckles. Importantly, the sound itself is not bones grinding or breaking, and it isn’t required for the adjustment to be effective. The goal of the adjustment is to improve joint motion, reduce stiffness, and help the nervous system function optimally—whether or not a pop is heard.

How often should I get chiropractic care?

The recommended frequency of chiropractic care is determined on an individual basis and depends on several factors, including a patient’s condition, symptoms, goals, and how their body responds to treatment.

Acute injuries or significant pain may initially require more frequent visits to reduce inflammation, restore movement, and calm irritated tissues, while more chronic or long-standing issues often benefit from a structured plan that allows for gradual improvement over time. As function improves and symptoms stabilize, visit frequency is typically reduced.  Lifestyle factors such as work demands, activity level, posture, stress, and previous injury history are also considered when making recommendations.

The ultimate goal is not ongoing dependency, but to help patients reach a point where they can maintain their progress with fewer visits, self-care strategies, and healthy movement habits.

Do you accept insurance?

I do not accept insurance. Operating as a "cash only" practice allows me to provide you with the most effective individualized care while keeping my rates affordable. Currently, I accept payment via credit or debit, including FSA and HSA debit cards, cash, Cashapp, Venmo, and Zelle.

What is your cancellation policy?

I require 24-hour notice for all cancellations. Cancellations made less than 24 hours prior to your appointment will be charged a fee equal to 50% of the reserved service. Cancellations made less than 4 hours prior to your appointment or failure to attend will be charged a fee equal to 100% of the reserved service.

In the event that you need to reschedule your appointment, you may do so via the online portal. Attempts to reschedule made within 24 hours of the scheduled appointment will be subject to the cancellation policy. However, I understand that legitimate emergencies do arise, so all patients will be given one opportunity to reschedule within the late cancellation window without penalty.

These policies are in place to protect my time as a small business owner and to hold patients accountable for their health goals. If you are running late or need to reschedule, please let me know ASAP.
